ABOUT ME
Hey There! I’m Jordan and I started this site for a few reasons! One, because I love the science behind how things work. The microwave is a convenient appliance in my kitchen. I use mine all the time. But recently I’ve started paying more attention to how I use it to cook my food.
This site will focus on, not only what you can and cannot microwave, but WHY! I’ve seen several sites out there that really haven’t done their research. They tell you to use a microwave safe dish and give you the same instructions over and over again.
But each piece of food and each dish you want to use, has its own unique set of properties and characteristics! So, I strive to provide information about using the microwave in these ways:
- How can I microwave {insert food name here} so it retains the highest nutritional value?
- How can I microwave {insert name of dish or cookware} safely so it does not pose a health risk to myself and others around me?
Sometimes, the question isn’t “Can I Microwave This” at all, but rather “Should I Microwave This?”
